Sustainable Development

OFI Private Equity Capital has undertaken the integration of the environmental, social, corporate and governance stakes in its investment strategy. This initiative meets the growing expectations of some institutional investors, more and more concerned with the extra financial criteria in their asset allocation or their investment strategies.
The recognition of extra financial criteria should enable OFI Private Equity Capital to improve the business models of its portfolio companies.
This is one of the factors likely to improve their financial valuation in the medium term.
Through this innovative and – we believe – key initiative, OFI Private Equity Capital intends to become a leading actor of the responsible private equity investments in France.
The achievement of this initiative within OFI Private Equity Capital was operated with the recruitment of a CSR Director in 2008, the implementation of a sustainable development committee comprised of independent members, the support of experts in social and environmental responsibilities, as well as a the support of a network of key actors.
Our initiative consists, on one hand, in adding some extra financial criteria to the fundamental and financial analysis of the companies before the investment decision-making, and on the other hand to accompany our portfolio companies in a “CSR” (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative derived in four dimensions: Governance, Social, Environment and Corporate.
As a symbol of this commitment, OFI Private Equity Capital was the first private equity firm in France to sign the UN’s “Principles for Responsible Investment”.
In 2008, the first step of this sustainable development initiative was implemented by OFI Private Equity for both the investment team and the portfolio companies.
